What really kills me is that they spent tooling dollars to retool the absolute worst figure in the line's 25 year history
Wait... They've retooled Ninja Force Scarlett?!
Seriously, I liked D6 originally, but mainly because of his gimmick. If this version had a bit more articulation, I wouldn't even mind him. Personally, like Pluv said, I think they should've made the suit snap onto a regular figure, so that we could get D6 the sailor-man, D6 the diver, and, with a little bit of creativity in the design of the suit, making parts of it modular, a new SNAKE. I mean, they could've tooled it so that certain bits snapped on to a base suit, then instead of a clear dome, have the classic SNAKE head snap in place of the dome. This would've also allowed them to cheat on the arms, and have a regular figure inside, arms folded or to his side, with the fake arms on the outside with limited articulation.
Actually, thinking about it and assuming they'd just reuse Shippy for the inner body, they could've done this for about the same cost in tooling, with only a little more required in materials and mold time. Drop the SHARC and make him a new price point of something like 10.99, then release a red sigil trooper with the SNAKE for the same price utilizing most of the mold again.
