Vipers are the soldiers better equipped and trained of the Cobra infantry and that requires a more energetic Commander, tough and qualified, the Vipers Commanders.

Each one of those men was a Cobra Soldier, Cobra Officer and Viper Trooper and after rigorous training in martial arts, modern armaments and survival, they are promoted Vipers Commander. They answer to the Cobra Commander directly and they are only satisfied when a mission is completed with absolute success, if that doesn't happen Vipers Troopers pay the price. Most of Vipers Commanders long for becoming Crimson Guard.
