As a former soldier to the Russian Army, he joined the Oktober Guard. Being a skilled welder, he was able to convert a normal vehicle into a war-machine. Nevertheless, he was what the Oktober Guard were looking for.

During a battle with Destro, he converted a dune buggy into a G.I. Joe version of the AWE Striker. Armed with a cannon, they were able to repel Destro and his army attacks.

I guess when Colonel Brekhov wanted an armored escort tank, he would ask Dragonsky to build him one.
