Born in Wichita, Kansas, Dashiell always stood apart from others. He won many awards for his achievements both scholastic and in sports. Dashiell became a pillar of the community. He graduated with honors and received the Rhodes Scholarship. He moved to the University of Oxford in England to pursue a postgraduate degree in English Literature.

While at Oxfordshire, Dashiell met a fellow student, a young lady by the name of Anastasia Cisarovna. The two quickly fell in love. During their summer break, they vacationed in the tropics. While enjoying the island breezes, Dashiell proposed. They agreed that once their studies were completed, they would get married.

The day after their return, Anastasia packed her clothes and disappeared. Dashiell was devastated, he quickly grow bored with academics and enlisted in the military. He graduated with top honors from Airborne School, Ranger School, Special Forces School and Flight Warrant Officers School, and is also a qualified helicopter pilot. Later, Duke would personally recruit him for the GIJOE team. Dashiell R. Fairborn became Flint. Flint's outspoken, self-confident personality hides the pain of lost love. He often borders on arrogance, but his actions usually back up his attitude.
