Richard Grayson spent his childhood on the trapeeze, a member of the Flying Graysons. When his family was killed during their act, young Dick was taken in by Bruce Wayne. Dick adopted the name Robin and fought along Batman for several years. Tensions mounted as Dick matured and he eventually had to strike out on his own. Taking the name Nightwing he has stepped out of Batman's shadow, to become a hero in his own right.
