Design:

This figure began when I tried to find an ARAH body that the NS Snake Eyes removable webgear, which is very small would fit on.

About the only chest it would fit on was that of Tollbooth. So I went from there. Initially, the webgear would even clasp shut. Once I added on the backpack (cast from a Grunt '82 backpack) on the back, it was too tight to shut.

Colors:

The burgundy used on the '84 Zartan was an interesting color. I figured that it I complemented it with tans and browns, it would be almost believable as a military color.

The base color I came up with, however, was just a bit too red and not brown enough. To trick the eyes, I added a pure red on the leg pouch, pulling down the noticeable level of the red in the burgundy.

Figuring this character to be a baseball player, I painted the chest and lower arms blue, to show a baseball uniform. It's unrealistic, but it adds a certain charm.
