Mikhial was not born in the USSR, but immigrated when he was about a year old. His mother, a poor Arabic woman, walked all the way to Armenia. He lived through the fall of the Soviet Union, and the attempted coup in 1992.

When he was 18, Mikhail joined the Air Force, where he was selected to attend the VDV School. Eventually, he learned how to become an expert in demolitions and hand-to-hand combat, though his promotions have been extremely slow.
