Greenleaf was born in LA but by the age of 7 was living in the rain forests of South America with his father. His father was a government scientist doing research on cancer remedies using rare plant extracts. Greenleaf witnessed his father's death at the hands of mercenaries who were employed by a development firm that was tearing down rain forests to build factories. After his father's death, Greenleaf devoted his life to saving the rainforests. As an adult he joined the army and was soon transferred to G.I. Joe to help stop a Cobra operation in the rain forests of Brazil. Greenleaf has stayed on the team as an active member.
