Bio: Born in Ireland, but raised in the United States by his uncle, William Magnus, Buzzard grew up an Army brat during the fifties and sixties. He grew up hearing his uncle's stories of World War Two and Korea and knowing that there was only one thing he wanted to do with his life. On his eighteenth birthday, Buzzard signed up for the Army and served in Vietnam, often encountering future G.I. Joe teammate Clayton "Hawk" Abernathy.
When G.I. Joe was formed, Buzzard was one of sixteen soldiers chosen for the elite unit. Unlike the other fifteen, Buzzard was not part of the regular team, but was chosen by Generals Flagg and Austin to begin creation of a special 'placeholder'unit for members of the G.I. Joe team that couldn't be placed in the regular team yet. Taking regular team members Shooter and Ranger as squad leaders, the 'Steel Brigade' began to have members such as future Joes Wild Bill, Doc and others. Beginning in 1987, Steel Brigade actually became a full sub-unit of G.I. Joe with its own members and would last as such until it's disbandment in 1993, a full year before G.I. Joe itself.
"Buzzard is angry, always angry. That's why he's called Buzzard, he circles his prey waiting for a chance to unleash himself and finish thm off." -- General Austin, U.S. Army, Retired.
