Heads: '86 Slipstream
Air masks, arms, legs: Keychain Pilot
Chests, one waist: '83 Ace
One waist: ARAHC Tripwire
Neck floatation devices: push mold from 25A Para-Viper
Character:
Hasbro never released a generic pilot/aircraft crew army builder figure, much needed to fly the Liquidator or man the turret of the Rattler.
Design:
The best Cobra pilot uniform/figure was and remains the '84 Wild Weasel. Ideally, I would have had a couple of Wild Weasel figures to repaint, after swapping out a part or two to create more generic pilots. But I didn't and had to improvise. The Slipstream head is already a pilot, I just added an air mask to it to hide the face. The rest of the body is simply an Ace body mixed with a keychain Pilot limbs.
To disguise the Ace chest/back, the helmet collar ring is gone and replaced with a floatation device.
Colors & Paint:
Blue and black, plus some red, to mix with early Cobra Soldiers and Officers.
Sculpting & Modifying:
The face was removed to accept the air mask. The helmet collar ring was dremeled away. The floatation device is sculpted around the neck.
Thanks for looking.
