Head - Beachead v2
Chest - Salvo?
Arms - post-2000s maybe like Ambush or whatever his repro name was
Legs and waist - Sonic falcon (white)

Despite his advanced age, Scrap Iron is meaner and quicker to violence than ever. In the fledgling nation of Cobra-La, established long after the death of Golubulus its beloved parent-savior, Scrap Iron is now in command of the Riot Corps to quell any internal unrest. Food shortages, water shortages, fungal infections, Dreddnok thefts, you best address these in the proper channels. Flag down a Televiper if his radios are working, anything, but do not cause a stir. Don't give him a reason, he seems to revel in hurting even his own Cobra people when given the slightest provocation.

This is one of the few figures I painted from tail to snakehead. I am impatient by nature, I used to tear through Joe cardbacks like Christmas wrapping right through the text and would immediately lose every small piece of every figure, long story short (too late!) I may have used too much paint. The leg pieces I used were tight '91 white Falcon glyph pants but so yellowed as to be unusable. Perfect for a paint project like this. I always found the Beachead v2 battle corps head to be menacing in the best way, with his face covered in dark netting like a Cobra. So BC Beachead was my Scrap Iron in the 90s, as I knew the character from the cartoon but did not own the original (I mean heck they didn't release Scrap Iron again for 20 years). Is it weird I just renamed a figure permanently and that was that? So it was only fitting I use the BC Beachead sculpt to create my Joeverse's version of this baddie.

I always had this lingering image in my mind of the cartoon when Scrap Iron traps Lady Jaye and co at the bottom of an elevator with explosives counting down. And I never found out how they made it out of that one, I gotta get on that! He made a lasting impression on me as a trickster with explosives, that line of thinking informed many of my joe fights. Many of the artists here resourcefully pair similar textures from different figures to assimilate pieces into one perfectly matching figure (for instance I see people do stuff like Roadblockv4 or5 chest piece with Gridiron arms because both are lined vertically), so for once I emulated that detail, tracking down mesh sleeves that matched his facewear and painting them to match. I know he has paint flaws, oh well, it's a huge step forward for me anyway but not mankind. The blue-red color choices are reminiscent of some extremely rare Cobras prototype figures I've seen from time to time, the repros of Night Creeper and Firefly and maybe Scrap Iron urban camo figures where the coloring is navy and red or orange? Can't find them anywhere, should have bought them when I had the chance. I'm a fool, a fool I say!
