Head - Green Power Commandos. The screw was unexpectedly stripped on this figure! Had to break out the hammer
Torso - Outback
Waist and legs - Wreckage
Arms - ? one has some custom work from a purchased lot, not my work, but cool
Weapons - none. The gun holstered on his leg is unloaded. Insatiable pride dictates he start all combat unarmed. He is happy to use your weapon, however, should you be within striking distance.
Hi I'm new here! Please allow me some time to improve my skills. About me joining, in the words of Sam Neill in Event Horizon: It's a dimension of pure chaos! I hope to further introduce you to my LBC Hellscape, a GI Joe meta verse stuffed with an uneven smattering of Joe lore strictly from the file cards, the animated TV series and '87 flick and then obscure or obvious easter eggs I absorbed from various pop culture icons over time. Big confession time: I, uh, don't read comic books, I never know if I'm sposed to read from left to right or from up to down or some of both? So I've never read a GI Joe comic book, ever. My sparse knowledge of the lore is from the toys themselves and animated sources. Coming on this site with that background, it's kind of like being a child walking into a middle of a movie and...you get the point, I'm outta my element, but I just might be worth having on your bowling team. Never even knew JoeCons existed until after they stopped doing them. Welcome to the party, pal! It's just like me to show up to a GI Joe party 20 years late with some LBCs steeped in absolutism for o-ring figures and my novice art and camera skills. Okay enough about me, here's an extended bio on this guy, will work on the length of others:
Basilisk, a legendary reptile who can kill with a glance. The device surgically implanted in his left eye has certainly given him lethal visual prowess, the ability to perfectly anticipate his opponent's next moves based on their preceding movements. Three months after the surgery, he found he could dodge laser fire with ease. At first he resented it, felt it reduced his martial arts to a science gimmick, but over time he's survived countless duels using the organic biotech and reached 99.6% biological integration. His successes on the battelfield drew challengers. He came to a draw in a duel against both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in which Snake Eyes fell over a waterfall and both Bas and Storm Shadow sustained serious but non-lethal injuries. The fight left a lasting impact on him, he found in reflection that it was the most fun he'd ever had in his life. He gained a liking and even respect for those two and a desire to hunt them from time to time and search for other worthy opponents. Soon after, he tired of Cobra orders and murdered a commanding officer with his bare hands just because it suited his mood. Now an outlaw from both the Joe and Cobra camps, he enjoys his freedom living off a deadly swamp in the Amazon, repelling the endless waves of Cobra Croc Masters and assassins sent after him. He is said to be training a very small cadre of the toughest fighters known to man.
If you watch anime, you might have guessed what inspired this narrative about the abilities in his eye.
PS I just KNEW if I looked there would be some dang Cobra vehicle with the name Basilisk, and sure enough, I checked and in 2015 some lame troop carrier was named for it. This character is more deserving of the name, don't you think? Sorry about the picture, they said it had to be a low-res pic, if anyone has suggestions how to get that balance right, let me know. I'll work on better settings too.
