I wanted to make a Gung Ho that fit in with a modern assortment of Joes, and came up with this version, that harkens back to the first wave of New Sculpt Figures.

It was a pretty straightforward custom, and the elbow pads help cover up any chipping that might occur when posing the elbow area.

The hardest part was trying to find a skin tone mix that didn't look too pink, nor too white. I mixed flesh tone, off white, and the light brown that comes in most acrylic model paint sets and came up with a very realistic skin tone that when held up to real human flesh, is almost a perfect match. I haven't been able to quite replicate it since.
