Brainwave was born in Vietnam during the war. His father was an American soldier by the name of Alberto Vasquez and his mother a young Vietnamese woman. He lived in Vietnam and was lied to about who his father really was. He was always an intelligent boy and preferred talking things out to violence but could throw a punch when it was needed. When the young boy reached 12 years of age his father had learned of the boys existence and the boy was sent to live in the United States. He quickly learned English and studied hard and had aquired a great command of the english language. He joined the LAPD's Special weapons and tactics division as a negotiator. His talents were noticed when he was able to talk down a suicidal cult member with hostages to drop his weapons and turn himself in. It was all over the news and a Sgt. by the name of Conrad Hauser happened to be watching. The rest is history.
