When it comes to Destro customs, there are two ways to go: you can either make a regal, ceremonial version, or you can give him battle armor. To me, Destro is a tactician and leader, not a fighter, so I went with the formal version. With Destro's background as a Scottish lord, I wanted to capture a sense of royalty. The final product came out with a bit of a fascist touch, but I'm not unhappy with it. I kept the original Destro's arms because I always liked that wrist-mounted missile launcher.

In my Joe universe, Cobra Commander is Cobra's leader in name only, and Destro actually commands Cobra's military arm (he's also the president of M.A.R.S., and doesn't have any particular ideological attachment to Cobra; he just uses the organization to further his own business interests).
