Long Arm is the Joe SWAT teams "Door Knocker." Using his trusty battering ram "Grond," named after the battering ram from the LOTR trilogy which was used to destroy the gate of Minas Tirith.

In a typical SWAT operation the "Door Knocker" opens the door with any of a variety of tools then steps back to let the rest of the team in to clear the room, since they usually don't have a firearm in hand. Not Long Arm, he smashes his way in and is first through the door. He carries an MP5 and has practiced the quick transition from battering ram to firearm in one smooth motion.

The rest of the guys don't like his method as it puts him in harms way for a fraction of a second unarmed but he gets the job done.
