Helmet: '84 Doc

Design/Colors & Paint:

The 1984 wave still might be the my favorite overall wave of the ARAH run. The faceless legions of Cobra soldiers started to be augmented with individual villains, like Storm Shadow, Firefly, and Scrap Iron. The vehicles and playsets were top notch. The Joe figures were a bit bulkier and more detailed than the '82 and '83 waves and still had realistic colors. Except for poor Blowtorch, who was decked out in a flame-colored outfit.

This custom puts Blowtorch in more subdued colors. The metallic emerald green padding and dark uniform is a good departure from the brights colors of the Hasbro design. Looking back at this custom, which I made around 1999, it would have benefitted from having the mask, fuel backpack, and flamethrower.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The pill bottles were removed from the Doc helmet.
