Connor Hawke was the son of two great archers. He also became an archer, but also studied various martial arts. He was born in a tibetan monastary while his parents were in hiding there. He was raised by the monks. He was a natural at all the forms of combat the monks and his parents bestowed upon him.

With GI Joe preferring to remain covert, Snake Eyes took the initiative to greatly expand the martial arts and silent weapons unit of the team. Connor was one of the first new recruits.
