Takedown was working for the FBI's H.R.T. (Hostage Rescue Team) as a sniper when the Old Man approached him about becoming a member of the new Joe SWAT team. Takedown asked why he should leave what he felt was the best job in the world and give up all the hard work it had taken him to get there. It isn't known what the Old Man said to him, but Takedown signed up on the spot.

Takedown is the lead sniper on the Joe's SWAT team, but he is also cross-trained in dynamic entry and can accompany the team on a forcible entry if needed.
